The Best Films, TV, Music and Books of 2015!
31 Dec 15
2015 was a great year for entertainment. TV gave us season 5 of the worldwide phenomenon Game of Thrones, Justin Bieber exploded back on the music scene with his 4th album Purpose, and J.J. Abrams took the reins and delivered the epic Star Wars: the Force Awakens.
As a round-up of all that was great in 2015 we have chosen our favourite films, music, TV and books of the year – with a peek of what we are looking forward to in 2016!
We just love listening to all the latest tunes in the office, it is the perfect opportunity to listen to new albums in their entirety! Here’s our top 4:
Ellie Goulding – Delirium
Troye Sivan – Blue Neighbourhood
Halsey – Badlands
Justin Bieber – Purpose
With so many great artists out there it is difficult to pick your favourite! However we have managed to whittle it down to 3:
Taylor Swift
James Bay
Troye Sivan
We have many film buffs here at Linsar and we all love going to the cinema to watch the latest blockbusters! Here’s our favourites of 2015:
Star Wars: The Force Awakens
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2
Inside Out
The Martian
Film characters inspire us in so many ways and help bring films to life, from up & coming new stars to old (and sometimes hairy) favourites:
Chewbacca – Star Wars
Rey – Star Wars
Katniss Everdeen – The Hunger Games
Furiosa – Mad Max
Now this was a very hard category as there are so many great series’ out there! We had to be brutal and choose a top 4:
Great British Bake Off
Downton Abbey
Once Upon A Time
Game of Thrones
Helping make the above (and other) series so great! Here’s our fav 4 (okay 5!):
David Tennant & Krysten Ritter – Kilgrave & Jessica Jones (Jessica Jones)
Jennifer Morrison – Emma Swan (Once Upon A Time)
Peter Dinklage – Tyrion Lannister (Game of Thrones)
Maggie Smith – Violet Crawley, Dowager Countess of Grantham (Downton Abbey)
When we aren’t watching TV or hitting the cinema we love to indulge in a good book! Here’s our favs from this year:
I Let You Go – Clare Mackintosh
Dream A Little Dream – Giovanna Fletcher
The Girl On The Train – Paula Hawkins
What does 2016 have in store?
Suicide Squad – Official synopsis starts ‘Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity’ who’s not excited or at least intrigued about that?! (August)
Jack Garratt, Phase -‘Phase’ will be released on February 19 via Island Records and will feature the awesome ‘Weathered’. The album is Garratt’s first and follows the EPs ‘Syenthesiac’ and ‘Remnants’, both of which were released in the last 12 months.
Sherlock Special – Okay it is a one-off on New Years Day but still! ‘The Abominable Bride’ sees Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman’s Dr. Watson returned to their Victorian roots, trailing London’s streets in 1895 on the hunt for the apparent vengeful ghost of a suicidal bride. (New Years Day)
Lastly we’d like to wish you all a very Happy New Year, here’s to an awesome 2016!
